About Meet the Author

Meet the Author works with leading publishing companies, authors and their agents. We offer two types of service:

Distribution Only - video material provided by third parties

Meet the Author now accepts video content filmed by the author or their publisher. Self-filmed material, short author interviews or publisher sales conference presentations, for example, may be submitted. Each clip must correspond to one title only. The physical quality of the clip is important to maximise distribution, but the placement of the clip on our site can be assured.

The cost is based on the running time of the clip and is $300 for the first 60 seconds of video material plus $100 for each subsequent 30 seconds or part thereof. The cost includes formatting and web-streaming and the clip will be submitted to our expanding on-line distribution platform. If you do not wish us to upload the clip to Myspace and YouTube, the cost is reduced by $100.

Just send your video material in AVI or QuickTime format on CD or miniDV tape to:

Video Processing Division
Meet the Author
The Oxford Centre for Innovation
Mill Street, Oxford
Oxfordshire OX2 0JX
United Kingdom

together with a check for the full amount based on the clip length as noted above.

Once we have reviewed the video, we will contact you to ask you to accept our Terms and Conditions. We will then load your clip onto our site and submit it to the distribution platform. In the event that your clip is unsuitable for our site, your check will be returned to you.

Premium Service - Meet the Author carries out the filming

Each clip costs $900 and we have filming capabilities in New York and Los Angeles. The cost includes production, editing, formatting and web-streaming plus formatted clips for the publisher's own use. The clip will be shown on our expanding distribution platform. If you do not wish us to upload the clip to Myspace and YouTube, the cost is reduced to $800.

The clip may also be used on the publisher's website or for promotional material (email, websites, viral marketing, publicity, sales forces' laptops etc) and the author's use (own website, fanzines, email).

Please note that some websites on our distribution platform do not take automatic feeds from us and therefore may take some time to show your clip on their site.

If you have any questions, please contact info@meettheauthor.com
